Pagliaro Designs is a custom woodwork shop run by Steven Pagliaro, located in Santa Barbara, California. Connected to the beauty of the natural environment, Steven Pagliaro’s work focuses on distilling this essence and bringing it to the forefront of the pieces he creates. He specializes in custom, handmade pedestals, bases and tables made primarily from reclaimed exotic woods with a contemporary, but natural, earthy feel.

Bases and pedestals are designed from the viewpoint of honoring the sculptures and the art that they are displaying. The understated designs pay homage to the art they support through the high level of craftsmanship that allows these works to shine.

Not only is Steven a talented craftsman of fine furniture, he also creates custom picture frames, cutting boards, and chessboards. Expanding upon the idea of sustainability and using reclaimed woods, Steven uses the excess wood from his furniture projects to create these smaller, modestly priced, works of art that look beautiful and are utilitarian as well.

Whether crafting pedestals and bases, tables, stools or other custom furniture, the wood used is carefully selected for its color, grain, and accents.  It is treated respectfully in a way that allows it to unleash its natural beauty – speaking for itself – in a clean, creative form, uncluttered, understated, and free of unnecessary embellishments.

Having an appreciation for the pressures man puts upon the environment, Steven strives to use reclaimed or sustainably grown woods whenever possible. Care is taken to use all the wood purchased for a project with the offcuts given to local schools for art programs and sawdust given to local stables.

Steven works essentially by himself to guarantee the high level of craftsmanship he seeks. His workshop is based in Santa Barbara, CA but his client base is not restricted to this locale.
